Kristin Neuffer-Ricciardelli

I have an unique educational background with both a graduate degree in reading and an undergraduate degree in art education. This combination will allow me to educate my students on how artists tell stories through visual images by identifying and comparing the elements of the narrative (characters, setting, problem, events, and solution) in the artwork.

ELEMENTARY ARTWORK

  • I read a book about the artist Matisse and then afterwards discussed with the students his artwork ("Icarus").
  • The students then sketched an outline of themselves participating in one of their favorite activities.

THE ZONE ARTWORK
Hand-made paper sculptures
  • The students made handmade paper using newspaper, magazines, construction paper, and natural organic materials.
  • The students then created a mold of their hand with the handmade paper and mounted the hand-mold onto a sheet of handmade paper.
